Baby, Baby: 16 Week Bumpdate

The Kidlets

How far along?
16 weeks!  Four months... and if I carry to the typical 36-37 weeks for twin moms, I only have about five months to go. Wow!
Genders?
Hopefully we can let you know shortly after January 5...
How big are they?
Three of my apps say as big as an avocado, the other says dill pickle.  But we're going to not think about that second option, because this is one pregnant momma whose pre-pregnancy hatred of pickles has NOT changed!!

Have you started to show yet?
Yep, no denying I'm pretty pregnant!  But yesterday at a (totally routine) EKG, the techs thought I looked tiny for 16 weeks with twins.  I don't FEEL tiny, and I love it :-)

Weight gain?
I avoid scales unless the doctor makes me, so I don't know ;-)

Maternity Clothes?
Oh yeah.  Only sweats and a few pre-pregnancy long shirts are still cutting it.

Stretch Marks?
No new ones...

Belly Button In or Out?
Still in.
Momma's Feeling

Cravings:
Someone mentioned strawberry sauce on a picture I posted to Facebook, which made me think of raspberry sauce, which made me desperately crave a Monte Cristo from Cheddars!  And this was right before Christmas, when our next several meals were planned out at other people's houses ;-)  So we handled that craving yesterday, lol.

Anything making you queasy or sick?
I'm feeling SO much better in that regard!  I still feel bubbly and occasionally throw up after gagging, but I'm not nauseated.

Happy or Moody Most of the Time?
Christmas week is always a little stressful, and we also went to my Grandpa's burial service this week, so I'm not sure what my mood would be without that stuff.  But I think I've been a little calmer through Christmas hustle than I usually am :-)

Movement:
Some!  It's not constant, and not even every day, but we've had some fun movement moments.  A couple nights ago, I was about to hop in the shower before bed, and I was twinging a lot on one side.  I put my hand over Baby A and pressed in a little.  I felt that baby (it's so hard not to use gendered pronouns!) push against my hand once really hard ("Leave me alone, MOM!"), then go back to the same kind of fluttering movemement we've been feeling.  :-)

Sleep:
My in-laws got me a Pregnancy Pillow for Christmas!  I've only slept with it twice, but I think it's going to change my life.  Ethan said something last night about me probably not giving it up after the kids are born.  He has a point!  This thing is... woww... it's basically the same way I've been arranging my old pillows, but it's firm and supportive, and since it's one all-connected pillow, I don't lose parts of it as I move overnight.  It even props me up on my back enough to be safe, and comfortably enough that I don't feel like I'm in a chair. :-)  Love this thing!!

What I Miss:
I could still go for a caffeinated diet coke and a hot bath...

Other Symptoms:
The burping.  Ew.  I've had some round ligament pain, but not much and not bad.  And I cried through at least two episodes of different TV shows this week...
Highlights and Coming Soon

Best Moment of the Week:
It was a wonderful week, so it's hard to choose!!  One of my favorite baby moments was when I was standing in my aunt's kitchen with her and my grandma, just three moms talking pregnancy and babies.  Baby B got excited and started poking me, and both my aunt and grandma were able to feel the movement :-)  That was pretty special :-)  Favorite semi-baby-moment: Ethan surprised me (like REALLY surprised me) with the DSLR I've been pining for for years!  I've been playing with and trying to learn all I can so that I can take awesome pictures of our little people when they get here!

Looking Forward To:
Come onnnn, January 5!  I want to know how to shop for these little ones!!
